HELPFUL Financial Aid RESOURCES
The FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (fafsa) opens on October 1 for entry into college in August. The FAFSA is used for federal financial aid, such as Pell Grants, Direct Student Loans, Parent Plus Loans and work study programs. This is the most common financial aid form used by most colleges.
The college scholarship service profile (CSS PROFILE) SOME COLLEGES MAY REQUIRE STUDENTS TO COMPLETE THE CSS PROFILE TO DETERMINE ELIgiBILITY FOR NON FEDERAL AID. The CSS Profile is an online application used by colleges and scholarship programs to award Institutional (their own) aid. This type of aid includes scholarships, grants, and loans all provided by the college or private scholarship organization.
